OBAMA SECRET SERVICE Pulls Guns On Conservative Tea Party Protesters In Bristol

The Obama caravan drives through Bristol, Virginia this week.

This came in the email after Dear Leader’s town hall event on Obamacare in Bristol, Virginia:

Hey Gateway Pundit.

I attended the town hall event in Bristol,VA today. Though very few were allowed inside, there was an amazing turnout outside of people protest healthcare reform, among other things. I hope to send you pictures soon of some great signs I saw. It was expected that those in opposition to the bill would outnumber those in favor by 10-1, but I feel it was much, much more.

I do have a question I was hoping you could answer. During the motorcade when the president was arriving, there were several vehicles following the limo that contained the secret service. All of the vehicles had all the windows rolled down, and back hatch open on the SUVs with the men holding their, I assume assault rifes, machine guns, drawn on everyone lining the streets. Needless to say it took my breath away at the sight of them, and made my friends and I dizzy with fear. I have seen the secret service before, but never like this. While they were intimidating, I never felt in danger. The guns were not drawn when the motorcade was leaving the event. But I turned on a local talk radio program as we were leaving and all the calls were about witnessing the guns being pointed at them and nothing else until the end of the program.

Having said all that, my question is, is this normal protocol during such an event? It very well could be, but after I had to get over the shock of it, I began to feel offended. We were all there peaceful, and have no problems with Obama the man, we have problems with his policies and wanted him to know the opposition was there to be heard, and know that a strong opposition did indeed exist, and that so many people don’t approve of his policies, with this bill in particular.

So, is this normal, and I’m making a mountain out of mole hill, or did they make an exception in this mainly conservative area?

Destiny Baker

NO Destiny. It’s not normal for the secret service to pull their assault guns on conservative protesters as they drive through town.

Destiny sent this picture of the caravan driving through Bristol:

Minus 12… As Economy Crumbles So Does Dear Leader’s Approval Numbers

July 31, 2009

Americans reject the radical in the White House…
Obama’s approval numbers have dropped 42 points since January.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 28% of the nation’s voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -12. That’s the lowest rating yet recorded for President Obama.

Far Left Dem on Obamacare Quagmire: "The Chickens Have Come Home to Roost"

July 30, 2009

Well, G-D AmeriKKKa

Evidently, Obama’s mentor Jeremiah Wright was not the only one to play the chicken card…
Radical Leftist Rep. Maxine Waters condemned Rahm Emanuel today for the Obamacare quagmire claiming “the chickens have come home to roost.”
The Hill reported:

The White House may only have one of its top officials to blame for its difficulty in passing healthcare, one liberal California Democrat asserted Tuesday.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) blamed now-White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel’s work as head of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), during which he worked to recruit many centrist candidates, resulting in landslide Democratic victories, for difficulties facing House leaders trying to pass reform legislation.

“That may be difficult for Rahm Emanuel, because remember, he recruited most of them,” Waters said during an interview on MSNBC when asked if the White House could lean on centrist, Blue Dog Democrats to pass reform legislation.

“Now the chickens have come home to roost,” she added.

Waters said that the Congressional Progressive Caucus wouldn’t organize candidates to run against the recalcitrant Democrats on healthcare, she could understand why those lawmakers might face primary challenges.

It looks like Speaker Pelosi will have to twist a few arms and offer a few bribes before this debacle is over.

Figures. President’s Own Physician Is Against Obamacare

July 30, 2009

It figures. Barack Obama’s own physician is against Obamacare.
HuffPo reported:

The man Barack Obama consulted on medical matters for over two decades said on Tuesday that the president’s vision for health care reform is bound for failure.

Dr. David Scheiner, a 70-year Chicago-based physician who treated Obama for more than 20 years, said he was disheartened by the health care legislation his former patient is championing, calling it piecemeal and ineffectual.

“I look at his program and I can’t see how it’s going to work,” Scheiner told the Huffington Post. “He has no cost control. There would be no effective cost control in his program. The [Congressional Budget Office] said it’s going be incredibly expensive … and the thing that I really am worried about is, if it is the failure that I think it would be, then health reform will be set back a long, long time.”

Scheiner, who prefers a more progressive approach to reform, was hesitant about trying to divine the president’s motives, although he said he believed that “in his heart of hearts” Obama “may well like a single-payer program.”

“His pragmatism is what is overwhelming him.” Scheiner added: “I think he’s afraid that he can’t get anything through if he doesn’t go through this incredibly compromised program.”

Admitting that he was not a political practitioner, Scheiner said he felt compelled to speak out because of his unique relationship with the president and this critical moment in the health care debate.

Promises, Promises, Promises……

July 29, 2009

Dear Leader had a Town Hall Meeting today at Broughton High School in Raleigh, North Carolina.

THE PRESIDENT: Well, we did give them a deadline and sort of we missed that deadline, but that’s okay.
We are — here is my promise — and by the way, I’ve been keeping my promises since I got into office. (Applause.) We will not sign — I will not sign a health care bill that is not deficit-neutral, that is not paid for; I will not sign a bill that does not have all the reforms that we need to lower health care inflation over the long term. We will not sign a bill that isn’t right for the American people. (Applause.)……Read the rest here….Straight from his desk!

Remember this Promise?…. Democrats know this program will cost American families thousands of dollars. Senator Barack Obama admitted this last year in an interview with San Francisco Chronicle:

Under my plan of a cap and trade system electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Businesses would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that cost onto consumers.”

Barack Obama admitted cap and trade legislation would cause electricity prices to skyrocket.
Cap and trade will likely cost $700 to $1,400 dollars per US family per year:

Democratic Congressman John Dingell (D-MI) summed up cap and trade at a Congressional hearing on April 24th– “It’s a Great Big Tax!”
It’s not just a great big tax… It’s the biggest tax in US history.

Cap and Trade is one promise we can’t let him keep. It’s not to late to call and email your representatives. Keep up the pressure folks!

UPDATE….Got some BIG shoes to fill!

July 29, 2009

Wow! Folks, you all are AWESOME! So many kind things have been said for Jim and his family.

I just got off the phone with Jim, and he is holding up remarkably well. He is in awe over how many people have expressed their condolences for the loss of his mother Dorothy D. Hoft. He called to ask if I would help him out over the next few days with blog posts and moderating comments. I have never actually done any posting, but I am going to give it my best, so please have some patience.

If anyone has any topics of discussion they would like to see posted, this thread is open.

Dorothy D. Hoft… August 1925 – July 2009

July 29, 2009

Dorothy Hoft loved God and her nine children. She loved the magnolia tree in the backyard.

My dear friend and mother passed away this evening at 10:16 PM.
She suffered a devastating heart attack 17 days ago. We put her on hospice late last week. She died at home in my arms. She was with her family.

This beautiful woman moved into my home in 2001. I was so blessed every day to watch her and care for her; to cook for her and clean for her. I was honored to serve her. I learned how to comb a woman’s hair. I learned how to help a woman put on earrings. I learned how to care for someone else. I learned how to love more.

We watched TV together. We prayed together. We laughed. She had a wonderful sense of humor. It felt good to see her smile when I came home from work, just like when she smiled at me as a child. She would sometimes sit on the porch and wait for me. I was so lucky. It was fun to have the rest of the family, her other 8 children, over for the holidays. She loved to be with her sons and daughters, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It was a blessing to care for this brilliant woman.
My life will not be the same without her.
I miss her dearly.

A wake is being scheduled later this week in Iowa. We are planning on having the funeral on Saturday.
Thank you for your kind words and thoughts and prayers.

Proverbs 31:25-31

She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.

She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:

“Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Communist China Warns Obama On His Record Deficit

July 29, 2009

It’s pretty sad when the Communist Chinese are lecturing our radical leaders on the free market system.

Barack Obama will quadruple the US deficit in his first year in office.

Communist China warned Obama and Democrats about printing money in May.
Communist China warned Obama and Democrats about their historic deficit in June.
Communist China laughed at tax-cheat Geithner when he said their assets were safe.
Today they warned Obama again.
My Way reported:

The United States and China are striking a conciliatory tone in their public comments during economic talks, although that hasn’t stopped China from posing some pointed questions behind closed doors about such issues as America’s soaring budget deficit.

The Obama administration has questions it wants answered as well in such areas as China’s long reliance on massive trade surpluses with the United States to bolster its domestic economy.

Both sides are expected to wrap up two days of high-level talks Tuesday with a joint communique that will lay out a work plan that both sides will tackle in upcoming meetings.
