Rush Limbaugh at CPAC: Democrat Party Actively Sought Failure of Iraq War (Video)

February 28, 2009

Rush Limbaugh spoke at CPAC today.
Rush told the audience:

“Ladies and Gentlemen of the United States, the Democrat Party has actively not just sought the failure of Republican presidents and policies, and now wars for the first time… The democrat party doesn’t stop at failure. Talk to Robert Bork, talk to Judge Clarence Thomas, they try to destroy lives, reputations and character.”

It will be hard for democrats to argue that.
Here’s the video clip from CPAC:

FOX News and CNN are aired his talk live. (CNN?)
Here’s a report:

Rush Limbaugh was 15 minutes early to the stage, but no one was complaining Saturday evening in Washington, D.C., at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

Quite the contrary. On the conference’s third and final day, the conservative talk radio host was the headliner, and the crowd greeted him with an immense ovation.

“Ladies and gentleman, this is my first ever address to the nation,” Limbaugh joked, noting that FOX News and C-SPAN were broadcasting the speech live.

Limbaugh then spent his first 15 minutes giving an impassioned summary of what it means to be a conservative before turning the focus to the movement’s recent electoral record.

“We can take this country back. All we need is to nominate the right candidate,” he said.

The speech was the culmination of an event that featured often fiery speeches by some of top names of the conservative movement and the Republican party, including former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and conservative commentator Ann Coulter.

Mitt Romney won the straw poll for president.

UPDATE: What a terrific speech!
Does anyone know if this will be aired again? I’d appreciate a heads up. I was not able to record the whole thing and missed a couple of segments I wanted to post on YouTube.

UPDATE 2: Kitty says C-SPAN will re-air Rush’s speech at 8:00pm tonight.
Great.

Hypocrisy on Tape… Defeatists Obama & Biden Trash Iraq War

February 28, 2009

Obama just can’t admit he was dead wrong about Iraq and if he had his way their would have been genocide….
Not that this bothered him.

Yesterday Obama spoke to the troops at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on Iraq and never once mentioned victory.
He did announce that troops would withdraw from Iraq in 2010.
But, what he forgot to tell you was that despite his best efforts our soldiers will come home victorious.

This video shows Obama and Biden’s hypocrisy on Iraq:

From the video: Speaking at Camp Lejeune on February 27, Obama talked about the success in Iraq which he and the Democratic Party tried to undermine continually.

One week ago President Obama also called for 17,000 more troops to Afghanistan to stabilize the situation, yet argued against the same policy in 2007 in Iraq. Yesterday, Obama almost appeared to take credit for the improving situation in Iraq. However, this video of Barack Obama and Joe Biden shows how absolutely wrong they have been at every turn and how they can’t be trusted on foreign policy.

The Beginning Obama clip is Feb 27, 2009
Bush-January 10, 2007
Biden Senate- April 2007

Last, Biden spring 2007
Thanks Chris for the reminder.

Here’s another reminder– Obama’s many positions on the surge.

VIDEO PROOF the Left Is Lying About Bobby Jindal (Updated)

February 28, 2009

During Katrina, I visited Sheriff Harry Lee, a Democrat and a good friend of mine. When I walked into his makeshift office I’d never seen him so angry. He was yelling into the phone: ‘Well, I’m the Sheriff and if you don’t like it you can come and arrest me!’ I asked him: ‘Sheriff, what’s got you so mad?’ He told me that he had put out a call for volunteers to come with their boats to rescue people who were trapped on their rooftops by the floodwaters.

The boats were all lined up ready to go — when some bureaucrat showed up and told them they couldn’t go out on the water unless they had proof of insurance and registration. I told him, ‘Sheriff, that’s ridiculous.’ And before I knew it, he was yelling into the phone: ‘Congressman Jindal is here, and he says you can come and arrest him too!’ Harry just told the boaters to ignore the bureaucrats and start rescuing people.

There is a lesson in this experience: The strength of America is not found in our government. It is found in the compassionate hearts and enterprising spirit of our citizens.

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal
Response to the President’s Address to Congress
February 24, 2009

Democrat Sheriff Harry Lee and Bobby Jindal

The radical left is attacking Bobby Jindal over his story regarding Hurricane Katrina and Sheriff Harry Lee.

The people from Louisiana has heard this story a million times.

The key point to be killed is the radical Left, with Keith Olbermann, claims the story is false because Jindal was not on the ground in New Orleans during the Katrina mess.
** NOT TRUE **
In fact, Jindal was the *only* elected official who was on the ground.

Here is the most important information:

In this post- RedState refutes the “75-mile” meme Olbermann, TPM, and Kos are pushing.
This quote here kills the liberal lie that Jindal was hiding in Baton Rouge:

“During Hurricane Katrina, I and former Sheriff Harry Lee were with (then Congressman) Bobby Jindal more than anybody else from the federal government. He didn’t wait for cameras or permission — he was boots on the ground, and anyone that disputes that obviously wasn’t in Louisiana.” — Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand, Democrat

This post at RedState has more.

Finally there’s video proof of Sheriff Lee recounting that Jindal was on the ground right after the hurricane and did help him unlike the rest of Louisiana’s elected officials:

That about says it, I’d say.

Now the lefties are just moving the goal posts and saying Bobby was not in New Orleans “during Katrina” because he was not there while the hurricane was blowing over the city — never mind that he showed up the next day as the levees were collapsing.
Puh-lease.

Don’t allow the left to slander Bobby Jindal.
Help get the truth out!

UPDATE: Bobby Jindal fights back against slander.
Including another first hand account:

Col. John Fortunato, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, said Jindal appeared at the sheriff’s offices on the east and west banks several times in the days after the storm. The boat rescue holdup by federal response officials did occur initially as citizens brought their watercraft to a staging area in Jefferson Parish, he said. But the problem was resolved and the great majority of boats were deployed to the flooded areas of New Orleans later that day.

Teepell, who after the storm drove with Jindal to visit various sheriffs’ offices in his district, said he recalled being in Lee’s office in west Jefferson on several occasions in the days after the storm. Teepell said he remembers the phone conversation but did not know who was talking to Lee.

Lee was recounting the boat rescue story to the caller on the line, Teepell said. The phone call was not taking place while the boats were attempting the rescue operation, but some days afterward, Teepell said.

OBAMA DECLARES WAR… On Investors, Entrepreneurs, Businesses, And More

February 28, 2009

Wartime President Barack Obama continued to smash his enemies into submission this week with his plans to increase the budget and national debt.
It’s all part of his big down payment on a new American socialist experiment.
…But, the enemy refuses to go down easy.
Larry Kudlow at CNBC reported:

Let me be very clear on the economics of President Obama’s State of the Union speech and his budget.

He is declaring war on investors, entrepreneurs, small businesses, large corporations, and private-equity and venture-capital funds.

That is the meaning of his anti-growth tax-hike proposals, which make absolutely no sense at all — either for this recession or from the standpoint of expanding our economy’s long-run potential to grow.

Raising the marginal tax rate on successful earners, capital, dividends, and all the private funds is a function of Obama’s left-wing social vision, and a repudiation of his economic-recovery statements. Ditto for his sweeping government-planning-and-spending program, which will wind up raising federal outlays as a share of GDP to at least 30 percent, if not more, over the next 10 years.

Reality Sets In… Hamas Rejects Clinton

February 28, 2009

Welcome to the real world Obamabots.

Hamas rejects Clinton. Hamas will not recognize Israel.
The Jerusalem Post reported:

Hamas rejected a call by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the Islamic group to recognize the state of Israel, Army Radio reported on Saturday afternoon.

Hamas spokesman Ismail Radwan reportedly said that the group will not recognize Israel nor meet the condition set by the Quartet, and noted that Clinton’s request was unacceptable to the Palestinians.

On Friday, Clinton was quoted as saying that the Egyptian-brokered efforts to bring about reconciliation between Hamas and Fatah will only work if the group recognizes Israel.

I blame Bush.

Obama Will Nearly Quadruple Deficit This Year

February 28, 2009

USA Today published an interactive chart on the the Obama Administration’s significant increase in spending this year.
In President Bush’s last year in office, 2008, the deficit reached $459 billion:

In President Obama’s first year in office the deficit is expected to reach $1.75 trillion and that is if everything goes according to the rosy scenario they are hoping for:

That is nearly 4 times as much as during President Bush’s last year in office.

It’s a good thing Team Obama believes a super large deficit is not only natural but beneficial because they sure got one.

Thanks Dems… Stock Market Has Worst January Since 1896 Followed By Worst February Since 1933

February 28, 2009

How’s this for change?…
Democrats bring on a depression.

Thanks Barry. Thanks Harry. Thanks Nancy…
The stock market had its worst February since 1933.
The Wall Street Journal reported:

A late burst of selling sealed a dismal finish for the stock market, which hit a fresh 12-year low on Friday as Citigroup sold a bigger chunk of itself to the government and General Electric slashed its dividend, spooking investors who were already jittery.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 119.15 points, or 1.7%, to end at 7062.93. The blue-chip benchmark ended down 937.93 points, or 11.72% on the month — the worst percentage drop for February since 1933, when it fell 15.62%. The Dow industrials have fallen six months in a row and are now more than 50% off their record highs hit in October of 2007.

This followed the news from last month that the stock markets had its worst January in 113 years.

Economist Peter Morici Slams Obama’s "Arrogant" $3.6 Trillion Economic Plan

February 28, 2009

3.6 trillion dollars is one out of every four dollars produced in the United States. It’s 25% of the GDP. It’s 2 and a half Californias… We are going from an era where we looked for the private sector to create wealth to where we are looking for the government to orchestrate the economy. Barack Obama says, “The government must lead.” So I take it the private sector is no longer going to decide where investments should go but rather the government is going to decide that we’re going to have a certain kind of energy sector, a certain kind of manufacturing, a certain kind of service sector. That seems to me pretty arrogant.”

Peter Morici
University of Maryland Economist
FOX News
February 27, 2009

Noted University of Maryland economist Peter Morici slammed the Obama Administration’s “arrogant” economic policies today.

Also… How big are the bailouts?
FOX News breaks down the ginormous $3.6 trillion plan:.

By the way, Brian Williams reported:

“If you were to place 3.6 trillion one dollar bills end to end, that line of dollar bills would stretch all the way from Capital Hill all the way to the sun… And, then back to Capital Hill one more time… And, then back to the sun… And, then almost back to Capital Hill.”

I wonder how that would translate in pork rinds?

It’s Friday… Obama Moves to Strike Down Another Bush Abortion Law

February 28, 2009

A year ago Obama told Pastor Rick Warren that he wasn’t sure at what point a baby gets human rights.
It was above above his paygrade:

Not any more.
He suddenly figured it out right after he was elected.

And, again for those of you who missed it…
One of the most outrageous and dishonest campaign websites this year was Obama’s mock “Pro-Life” website paid for by George Soros.

In reality Obama was the most radical pro-abortion and infanticide candidate in the last 35 years. Barack Obama even voted 4 times to support infanticide.

Which brings us to today… Funny how Obama always seems to sneak his abortion legislation in on a Friday.

Today the Obama administration struck down a Bush policy that lets healthcare workers deny services because of moral beliefs.
The Anchoress explains what this new law will mean to healthcare workers.

Obama Speaks to Troops on Iraq– Never Mentions Victory

February 28, 2009

He just can’t admit he was dead wrong about Iraq and if he had his way their would have been genocide.
…Not that he cared.

Today Obama spoke to the troops at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on Iraq and never once mentioned victory.

It also looks like Obama just gave al-Qaeda and Iran something to strategize around.

UPDATE: Merv adds this:

Obama’s position on the war before he was elected was irresponsible. His first proposal would have had the troops out last spring before the enemy had been defeated. He still acts indifferent to victory. That is the kind of arrogance that breeds defeat.
